As a kid, Mr. SlapstickStuff didn't have access to a camera... or a studio... or cute models. But he did have a VCR.
SlapstickStuff is pleased to present another video in our ongoing compilation project to collect the best of the Nickelodeon-era messy clips. This one might be entitled "Saturday Morning Mess" as practically all these clips were recorded in the early hours of the weekend during the late Eighties!
College Mad House was a spin-off from the syndicated Fun House and a forerunner to the (still ongoing) Latin American Passa ou Repassa. The format was simple: College kids in messy, silly stunts, culminating in a quiz round with pies. There are 17 separate shows included here: 14 in great quality, 1 unfortunately cut (with lower quality clips from the same round added), and 2 more of lower quality.
Also on Saturday morning was Hey Vern It's Ernest! highlighted by the very odd, very pie-centric skit "My Father The Clown." The poor mom in this skit clearly got the worst of it... Over and over again! Pretty sure I got every single messy bit from this short-running show. Rounding out this 52-minute video are choice clips from Out Of Control (AKA "The Show Dave Collier Was On Before Full House"), The Patty Duke Show, The Muppet Show (Sandy Duncan meets a pie-tossing Muppet!), Sharon Lois & Bram (the infamous all-shaving-cream pie fight), and both pie clips from MTV's ridiculous gameshow Remote Control (R.I.P. Ken Ober).
